Responsible for coordinating and managing construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at the project site.
Responsible to assess productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance on the project.
Responsible to manage walk downs of planned work, validate acceptance of completed work to design requirements, approve contractor payment requests, verify constructability, ensure proper resource allocations, assess field status, and resolve issues as needed.
Responsible for scope control, budget oversight, performance reporting, schedules, and work in progress to ensure Construction Supervisors are effectively implementing their assignments and obtaining the desired results.
Provides leadership and coaching to Construction Supervisors and supplemental workforce, communicating departmental, station, and division goals and validating each performers ability to impact those goals.
Acts as a critical bridge between field operations and customer leadership, ensuring construction crews and project stakeholders remain aligned.
Addresses logistical challenges, resolves conflicts, and ensures construction activities stay on track.
Survey and observe contractor Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) practices; providecoaching, direction and corrective action as needed
Education:
Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Relevant Experience:
6 - 10 years of experience in power plant commissioning, working with EPC Contractors, engineering firms, and equipment suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead commissioning projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to implement commissioning plans.
- Oversee system testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance.
- Manage contractor performance and ensure adherence to project timelines.
- Resolve operational issues that arise during the commissioning phase.
Other:
Strong understanding of engineering principles related to power plant commissioning.

- Prioritizes and enforces safety protocols on the job site, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards
- Broad understanding of company policies and procedures
- Coordinates with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed effectively
- Perform inspections, maintain QA/QC documents, and audits construction quality, ensuring adherence to standards and specifications
- Maintains open communication with team members, clients, and other stakeholders throughout the project
- Keeps detailed records of construction activities, progress reports, and safety inspections
- Experience in leading and managing construction, including monitoring tasks, providing feedback, and resolving conflicts
- Vast knowledge of electrical schematics, mechanical, civil, and steel structural drawings
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations and practices, including the ability to identify and mitigate hazards
- Ability to identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction, ensuring the project stays on track
- Familiar with concrete work, flat foundations, drill piers, breaker pads, GSU containment pits
- Work with EPC to resolve requests for information (RFI) and change orders
- Perform material procurement and material take offs
- Review project after completion and report successes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement
- Able to work safely near equipment energized at hazardous voltage levels
- Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials in hazardous environments and across uneven ground
- Maintain clean and organized work area
- Promote open communication with direct reports to enhance teamwork and report issues
- Proficient computer skills, including a strong grasp of general software like MS Office (Excel, Word, Project) and potentially specialized software for substation construction
- Turnover and support Commissioning efforts through energization
