Job Title: Constructability Coordinator
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Type: 3 year Contract
Compensation: $40.00

Responsibilities

  • Assist with lighting designs to ensure all National Electrical Code (NEC) systems meet local code requirements in Alabama.
  • Coordinate, schedule, track, and manage the installation and maintenance of NEC lighting systems in the upper half of the state.
  • Ensure quality control, provide performance feedback to Lighting Contractors, approve payment of invoices, assist with lighting project designs, and address lighting maintenance issues.
  • Ensure lighting systems are safely installed and repaired within cost estimates, comply with all codes and specifications, and exceed customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with Lighting Account Executives, Sale Consultants, and Lighting Design Analysts to facilitate lighting designs that meet safety, NEC, and Southern Company standards.
  • Conduct pre-construction site visits to identify conditions and conflicts affecting timely and safe installation.
  • Coordinate pre-construction meetings with APCO and Customer representatives to communicate responsibilities and schedules.
  • Coordinate installation and repair of lighting equipment and distribution facilities with Division personnel.
  • Ensure permits and utility locates are secured before starting construction and remain valid throughout.
  • Review and approve contract labor sheets and track labor associated with each project.
  • Manage project schedules to meet commitment dates.
  • Charge labor units correctly to DWE for each project and maintenance order.
  • Inspect completed lighting projects for compliance with codes and specifications.
  • Assist internal and external personnel with lighting maintenance issues.


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in outdoor NEC lighting system design and installation.
  • Experience with NEC lighting system design, installation, and repair.
  • Experience managing contractor workforce.
  • Electrical License in the state of Alabama.
  • Master Electrical License required.
  • Ability to build strong relationships at all levels with internal and external customers.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently within project timelines and budgets.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, LAMP, CAMP, and Fulcrum.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience interfacing with Divisions, Customer Service, and Sales teams.
  • Ability to grasp technical concepts and evolving technology related to the job.
