About this position: Configuration Manager    Location – Beavercreek, OH

Wage/Salary Range: $115,000 – 135,000

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

•         Leverage AI powered tools to automate configuration tracking, drift detection, and remediation workflows.

•         Implement predictive analytics to identify configuration risks, performance issues, and optimization opportunities.

•         Collaborate with engineering and security teams to integrate AI based insights into operational decision making

•         Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise configuration management processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all environments.

•         Maintain and optimize the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring data integrity and alignment with ITIL best practices.

•         Develop and enforce configuration standards, baselines, and lifecycle policies for infrastructure, applications, and cloud services.

•         Manage configuration and compliance across hybrid environments.

•         Utilize tools such as Intune, Azure Policy, and Defender for Cloud to enforce configuration baselines and security standards.

•         Support Zero Trust initiatives through configuration hardening and policy enforcement.

•         Develop, implement, and maintain Configuration Management Plans (CMP) in accordance with program requirements and applicable standards.

•         Establish and control software and system baselines, including functional, allocated, and product baselines.

•         Manage and track configuration items (CIs) throughout the software development lifecycle.

•         Conduct and support Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities including preparation of change proposals, impact analyses, and meeting facilitation

•         Administer and manage version control systems and CM tools (e.g., Git, Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).

•         Perform configuration audits (Functional Configuration Audits and Physical Configuration Audits) to verify product integrity.

•         Maintain configuration status accounting records and generate reports for stakeholders and program leadership.

•         Coordinate with development, test, and deployment teams to ensure proper identification, control, and release of configuration items.

•         Support software release management activities, including release packaging, versioning, and deployment documentation.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

•         Level of Experience Requirements: 3+ years of experience in Configuration Management in a software systems development environment.

•         Experience with configuration management tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent.

•         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

•         Skilled at prioritization and multi-tasking

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

•         Strong understanding of Configuration Management principles, processes, and best practices (e.g., EIA-649, MIL-HDBK-61).

•         Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

•         Proficiency in version control systems and CM toolsets.

•         Ability to establish and manage baselines, change control processes, and release procedures.

•         Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

•         Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

•         Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.

•         Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

•         Ability to develop, prioritize, and accomplish goals in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

•         Must be effective and efficient in identifying and proposing creative, innovative solutions to resolve complex, time-critical challenges.

Preferred

•         Certified Configuration Manager (CCM) or equivalent certification.

•         Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or government software programs.

•         Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD toolchains.

•         Experience with Cloud Migration, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and related technologies.

•         USMC or military environment (staff, briefing, product creation) experience.

•         ITIL or other service management framework certification.

•         Active DoD clearance - interim secret or higher (or ability to obtain one).

Supervisory Responsibilities

•         This position will not  have supervisory responsibilities.

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
