Summary:

The Computer Systems Engineer/Architect – SME serves as the principal technical authority responsible for the design, integration, and evolution of complex enterprise systems and architectures. This role leads the development of scalable, secure, and resilient solutions that align with mission objectives and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead the design and development of enterprise-level system architectures, including infrastructure, applications, and network components
  • Define and implement end-to-end system architecture strategies that support mission needs, scalability, and performance requirements
  • Provide technical oversight for system engineering activities across the full system lifecycle (concept, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment)
  • Architect secure solutions in compliance with DoD, NIST, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend integration strategies to modernize and enhance system capabilities
  • Oversee system integration efforts, ensuring interoperability across multiple platforms, environments, and enclaves
  • Establish and enforce architecture standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices
  • Ensure systems meet reliability, availability, maintainability, and security (RAMS) requirements
Qualifications:

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with network architecture, distributed systems, and enterprise integration patterns

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience
  • Must have a Tier III Level Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
