POSITION AGREEMENT

POSITION TITLE: Compounding Technician

MANAGER’S POSITION: Lead Lab Technician

Result Statement:  This position is responsible for the following results:

Perform the duties of interacting with customers, accurately inputting the data and filling compounded prescriptions, supporting the Pharmacist’s role with patients and working well with the team.

Technical Work Listing: This position is responsible for the following tactical work:

Position Specific:

1. Follow all Compounding procedures according to USP 795 and USP 800.

2. Have or Gain thorough knowledge of PioneerRx

3. Inventory must be constantly evaluated for out-dates and expired drugs

4. Logs should be completed each day, quarter, and year based on Standard Operating Procedures

5. Lab should be kept clean and free of trash or debris

6. Should consult with various compounding vendors for education, formulas, C of A's, and software support.

7. Label and compound prescriptions with accuracy using the integrated balance to software system and Standard Operating Procedures

8. Communicated with patients regarding compounded prescriptions

9. Attend training seminars as determined by the Pharmacy or Marketing Manager

10. Assist the pharmacy staff outside the compounding lab when needed

11. Assist with managing compounding inventory

12. Generate any daily, quarterly, or annual reports and monitor profits to make adjustments if needed

13. Have a base knowledge of compounding calculations

14. Consistently follow all formulas for compounding

15. Assist in answering the phone 

16. Prescriptions filled accurately, quality assurance procedures followed

17. Keep up-to-date on any regulatory or legal changes within the pharmacy

18. Obtain at least 3 Compounding CE hours every 2 years

Company Wide:

1. All proprietary company info should be kept confidential

2. Employee should follow HIPAA guidelines

3. Manager should be notified if there are any unresolved issues

4. Make patients feel welcomed and appreciated with smiles and solutions

5. Work-station is kept clean and clear of clutter, completely cleared off at end of day

6. At work station ready for work at start of shift
