Job Summary
The Compliance Officer supports department practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and standards, goal attainment, and the ongoing development of a superior workforce.
Job Duties
- Conducts internal company audits to include: Employee Records, I-9, Labor Laws, Document Retention, EEO, ACA, FMLA, OSHA, FLSA, Handbook, Compensation, etc.
- Leads the implementation of ISO 9001standards
- Audits company procedures and processes for compliance purposes
- Identifies areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
- Draft, modify and implement Policy and Procedure Manuals (PPM)
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 and VETS 100 reports annually; and maintains other records, report and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Develops and periodically reviews and updates Standards of Conduct to ensure continuing currency and relevance in providing guidance to management and employees.
- Collaborates with other departments (e.g., HR, Operations, business development etc.) to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
- Independently reviews and evaluates to ensure that compliance issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately resolved.
- Works with the Human Resources Department and others as appropriate to develop an effective compliance-training program, including appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers.
- Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
- Assesses future ventures of the company to identify possible compliance risks
- Maintains knowledge of regulatory developments within and/or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control
- Compile reports of calls received, investigations conducted, findings and recommendations developed, action plans established and progress noted.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in compliance role, preferably with ISO experience
- Experience in infrastructure development, quality management, compliance auditing
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in business analytics or equivalent experience
- Experience in strategic planning, continuous improvement, organizational development
- Excellent oral and written communication and the ability to make effective presentations to all levels of the organization are required.
- Training experience: developing and facilitating programs.
- Requires strong organizational skills and the ability to complete multiple complex tasks in a timely fashion.
