Job Summary
As a Compensation Analyst I, you will assist in the development, implementation, and administration of compensation and incentive policies. This role involves studying labor market trends, analyzing job descriptions, and ensuring equitable pay structures across the organization. You will play a key role in processing salary offers, managing merit and bonus execution, and providing data-driven guidance to line managers and HR generalists.
Key Responsibilities
Market Analysis: Conduct surveys and labor market studies to determine competitive compensation trends.
Job Evaluation: Review job descriptions and specifications to apply evaluation techniques that establish internal equity and industry competitiveness.
Regulatory Compliance: Interpret local, state, and federal laws (FLSA, etc.) and analyze union agreements to ensure standard pay rates.
Operational Support: Process salary offers for the salaried workforce and support the execution of annual merit and bonus cycles.
Training & Presentation: Facilitate meetings and conduct training sessions for large audiences and key leadership.
Data Management: Utilize critical thinking to manage large data sets, deriving solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Basic Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field (0 years of experience required).
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to handle large data sets and translate findings into clear, concise presentations.
Communication: Effective professional communication skills (verbal and written) for diverse audiences, including executive leadership.
Adaptability: Must be a quick learner capable of working independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure, fast-paced culture.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience or internships in Human Resources (specifically Recruiting, HRBP, or Compensation/Incentives).
Familiarity with HRIS functions, incentive plans, or stock option administration.
Additional Information
Work Environment: This is a 100% Onsite position located in Newport News, VA.
Duration: 12-month contract with potential for extension.
Benefits: This is a W2 contract position (no benefits).
