Do you have a passion for plants and landscaping?  The City of Nacogdoches is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable City Gardener!

About The Role:

Oversee the beauty and health of our city's green spaces!  The City Gardener is responsible for the design, maintenance and planting of various materials across city properties, with a focus on downtown planter boxes and hanging baskets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain various plant materials across city properties.
• Manage downtown planter boxes and hanging baskets.
• Purchase all necessary plant material and supplies.
• Provide expert horticultural advice to City staff (disease/insect control, proper care).
• Perform planting, weeding, fertilizing, water and pruning.

Qualifications:

Degree in Horticulture or equivalent combination of education/experience and at least 4 years experience in the horticulture field.  Must possess a valid Texas driver license.  Master Gardener certification is preferred.
