We are in search of a Communications Coordinator I or Communications Coordinator II to join our Marketing and Communications department in Spokane, Washington (Headquarters). This full-time position reports to the VP, Marketing and Public Relations and supports the Marketing and Communications team by serving as a skilled copy editor, writer, and design contributor. Responsibilities include content creation, editing, light graphic design support, and distribution across multiple channels. The position plays a key role in strengthening AgWest's brand presence through compelling writing, engaging social media content, impactful news releases, and visually appealing designs, all while ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
After an initial in-office training period, this position is eligible for workplace flexibility and a one-time home office stipend. Employees are expected to continue working from their office location a minimum of 50% or 60% of the time depending on location.
Compensation Information
The base salary range for this position in Spokane, Washington is:
Level I:
Typical starting range: $44,200 - $58,900
Full base salary range: $44,200 - $66,200
Annual performance-based incentive target is 6% of base.
Level II:
Typical starting range: $48,400 - $64,500
Full base salary range: $48,400 - $72,600
Annual performance-based incentive target is 6% of base.
Job Requirements
Coordinate with team members to develop communications content and calendars that support AgWest branding and marketing objectives.
Support content creation for websites, publications, news releases, blogs, presentations, customer communications, and staff profiles.
Copyedit materials, as needed, for accuracy, clarity, and compliance.
Contribute to social media content and advertising copy to support engagement and brand awareness.
Provide backup support for internal communication channels, including posting and updating content.
Collaborate on news release development, in accordance with AgWest business standards and philosophies.
Serve as primary media release distributor; maintain media contact lists, monitor coverage, and track engagement metrics.
Monitor online mentions of AgWest using internal tools and external partners; escalate to leadership as appropriate.
Support the creation and refinement of visual content, including graphics, presentations and marketing materials, using Adobe Suite design tools, to support organizational communication and branding initiatives.
Attend customer visits and various AgWest events to capture relevant content, as needed.
Support departmental tasks such as managing incoming and outgoing mail, visitor gift inventory, subscription lists, tradeshow coordination and third-party contractor and vendor communications.
Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Minimum Requirements
Associate's degree in communications, marketing, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Generally, requires one to three years' relevant experience gained through professional work, coursework, internships or volunteer work, with demonstrated writing, editing and proofreading skills
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with others
Ability to manage multiple tasks, plan, prioritize and meet deadlines
Basic organizational skills with the ability to follow established processes and guidelines
Familiarity with social media platforms and basic digital communication tools
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Familiarity in Adobe Suite design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and processes
Preferred Requirements
Understanding of fundamental branding principles and introductory marketing concepts
Experience creating content for websites, social media, or print publications, through professional work, coursework, internships, or volunteer work
Familiarity with AP Style guidelines
