This position collaborates closely with Engineering, R&D, Operations, Plant Leadership, Quality, and Finance to support material qualification, PPAP workflows, cost modeling, and supply assurance. The Commodity Manager plays a critical role in ensuring cost competitiveness, supply resilience, and operational alignment for CSP's SMC and DLFT product families.

Key Responsibilities
Category Management & Sourcing Execution
· Support development and execution of sourcing strategies for resins, fiberglass, fillers, pigments/thickeners, and SMC chemicals.
· Lead RFx events, supplier evaluations, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses.
· Implement price indexation models, market baskets, and contract terms aligned with company strategy.
· Maintain accurate category data, market intelligence, and benchmark comparisons.
Supplier Management
· Manage day-to-day supplier relationships including performance tracking, business reviews, and scorecards.
· Support negotiation and administration of pricing agreements, MSAs, and supply contracts.
· Coordinate supplier audits and corrective action plans with Quality and SQD teams.
· Ensure suppliers meet requirements for quality, delivery, service, and ESG expectations.
Cost Management & Value Engineering
· Develop detailed cost breakdowns, should-cost models, and cost-reduction initiatives.
· Partner with R&D to identify material alternatives, formulation changes, and value-engineering opportunities.
· Track cost performance, savings projects, and variance-to-plan metrics.
Risk & Compliance
· Support dual-sourcing and supply-resilience initiatives across raw material subcategories.
· Maintain risk registers, monitor supply constraints, and recommend preventive actions.
· Ensure compliance with PPAP, customer approvals, and change management requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work with Operations and Plant teams to ensure production alignment, inventory parameters, and timely supply.
· Partner with Quality to ensure supplier readiness, quality gate compliance, and PPAP deliverables.
· Support Finance in budgeting, forecasting, and index-based cost modeling.

Qualifications
Education
· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Chemistry/Materials Science, or Business required.
· Master's degree (MBA or technical M.S.) preferred.
Experience
· 3-6 years of experience in procurement, commodity management, or raw materials sourcing-preferably in automotive, composites, chemicals, or advanced materials.
· Experience supporting multi-site sourcing, RFx processes, and supplier negotiations.
· Familiarity with PPAP, material qualifications, and formulation impacts preferred.
Skills & Competencies
· Strong sourcing and negotiation capabilities
· Knowledge of raw materials such as resins, fiberglass, fillers, pigments, and chemical systems
· Analytical strength (TCO modeling, data analysis, market intelligence)
· Cross-functional collaboration and communication
· ERP and procurement system proficiency (QAD experience a plus)
