Job Summary

The Commercial Loan Operations Programmer is responsible for developing and maintaining database queries, operational reports, and dashboards to support commercial loan processing, oversight, and compliance. This role works closely with loan operations, IT, and data governance teams to ensure data integrity, streamline reporting, and provide actionable insights that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.

Pay Range: $53,025.00 - $70,700.00 - $76,104.00

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain complex SQL queries to support operational reporting, data validation, and ad hoc business requests.
  • Design and implement dashboards using reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or similar) to visualize commercial loan operations metrics, KPIs, and SLA performance.
  • Perform detailed database inquiries across loan servicing systems and data warehouses to support reconciliation, exception tracking, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with business users to understand reporting needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Maintain data accuracy and consistency by validating source system data and conducting quality checks.
  • Support automation of manual reporting tasks and provide documentation for repeatable queries and processes.
  • Assist in the integration of loan systems with enterprise reporting environments and data lakes.
  • Provide technical support for audits, risk reviews, and regulatory exams by producing requested reports and data extracts.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues in queries and reports, optimizing data retrieval for large commercial loan datasets.
  • Participate in the development of data governance practices and operational reporting standards.

  • Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
  • Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings.  Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma, GED or Foreign Equivalent
  • College, Vocational or Associates Degree (2 years or equivalent) and 3 to 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum experience required: 4+ Years  programming experience in a large commercial bank or related financial institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education level preferred: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with commercial lending processes, loan accounting, and regulatory reporting (e.g., Call Reports, CECL).
  • Experience working with ETL processes or enterprise data warehouses.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.

Job Competencies:

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL, or similar dialects) for data extraction, joins, CTEs, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with loan servicing systems (e.g., ACBS, Loan IQ, AFSVision, or internal commercial loan platforms).
  • Strong understanding of data structures, financial systems, and relational databases.
  • Proficiency with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across departments.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.
