United Community Bank is in search of a Commercial Loan Assistant. This position will assist the commercial lending team with the administrative processing duties associated with commercial loan applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process Commercial loans in accordance and within guidelines and regulatory standards
  • Prepare documents on loan software (currently LaserPro for Commercial)
  • All assigned general clerical duties for the designated loan officer, including but not limited to sending past due letters, title ticklers, preparing loan files and general correspondence
  • Work at the front desk, answer phones and greet clients
  • Answer phones and assist with customer questions and inquiries
  • Assist with loan applications when the loan officer is unavailable
  • Cross-sell bank products and work with loan officer to find new opportunities for client
  • Assist clients with wire requests, loan advances and payments
  • Handle renewals and extensions per loan officer instructions
  • Prepare set up sheets, order all documents needed for closing
  • Coordinate with local attorneys when attorney prepared loan documents are necessary
  • Understand and assist clients with the Cash Management system
  • Maintain familiarity with the Bank Secrecy Act Policy, OFAC Policy, Loan Policy, CIP Policy and any other policies relevant to your position
  • Daily updates on files in process when changes occur
  • Prepare title applications and checks if necessary
  • Disburse loan files to loan servicing the same day if possible
  • Verify full coverage insurance on all loans
  • Correct any loan exceptions
  • Pull flood certifications
  • Run credit bureaus
  • Assist other departments if needed
  • Other related duties as assigned

Computer Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point)

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • High school degree or equivalent

This job operates in a retail banking setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

  • Requires manual dexterity, typing, and the ability to count money and key in transactions
