Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Our client is seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join their team, servicing clients throughout the tri‐state area. This role focuses on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of commercial HVAC systems and requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.

Job Duties

• Use a variety of hand tools and follow blueprints, wiring/piping diagrams, or engineering specifications to diagnose and repair units
• Operate refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, charging equipment, and service gauges
• Apply troubleshooting skills to the component level
• Inspect systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications
• Perform routine maintenance and operation of HVAC systems and related equipment to ensure safe and effective facility operation
• Maintain quality of work, performance, and productivity standards
• Document work by completing paperwork for each job
• Work varying schedules and shifts as required by business needs
• Apply knowledge of VAV/VVT HVAC systems (preferred)
• Demonstrate competent knowledge of building controls, VRF, WSHP, cooling towers, package units, split systems, etc.

Employment Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
• High School diploma or GED
• Technical school education preferred
• EPA certification required
• Valid driver’s license
• Must pass drug test and background check
• OSHA certification a plus (not required)
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks: climbing, carrying 50 lbs+, bending, reaching, kneeling, crawling, push/pull, working at heights and in confined spaces
