Job Description:

1. Need 4 to 8 years’ experience in Cognos tool

Key Responsibilities:

1. Report Development:
   • Design, develop, and deploy reports using IBM Cognos Report Studio and Cognos Analytics.
   • Create complex, ad-hoc reports, scheduled reports, and dashboards.
   • Work with users to gather reporting requirements and ensure the output meets business needs.

2. Data Modeling and Analysis:
   • Create and manage Cognos Framework Manager models for reporting.
   • Develop and maintain data models (star schemas, cubes, etc.) using Cognos Framework Manager.
   • Perform data analysis and validate data consistency between source systems and Cognos reports.

3. Performance Tuning:
   • Optimize Cognos reports for performance, especially in large data sets.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve any performance or data issues related to Cognos reports.

4. Data Integration:
   • Integrate Cognos with other data sources such as databases, ERP systems, and data warehouses.
   • Work with ETL tools and ensure seamless data flow between systems for accurate reporting.

5. User Access and Security:
   • Configure and manage user roles, security, and access within Cognos to ensure compliance with company policies.

6. Collaboration & Support:
   • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of BI solutions.
   • Provide user training and support for end-users.
   • Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported by users.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong experience with IBM Cognos (Cognos Analytics, Report Studio, Framework Manager, etc.)
• Proficiency in SQL for querying databases and optimizing reports.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with other BI tools and data visualization techniques (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
