Coding & Reimbursement Specialist

Sparks Group is partnering with a leading national healthcare association to identify a Coding & Reimbursement Specialist (Contractor). This professional will provide short-term, high-impact project support within the Physician Payment & Reimbursement function. The ideal consultant brings strong CPT coding expertise, urology experience, and the ability to manage detailed research and triage inquiries efficiently. This role was created to stabilize workload during peak volume and ensure continuity across recurring coding and reimbursement activities
Responsibilities:Coding Research & Support
- Triage and respond to routine coding and reimbursement inquiries from urologists and practice managers.
- Track recurring coding issues and trends raised by members or stakeholders.
- Provide onsite coding guidance for urologists during the association’s Annual Meeting.
- Assist with preparation and follow-up for CPT and RUC-related activities, including code change applications, RUC survey materials, and recommendation documents.
- Analyze RUC survey data and other large data sets.
- Contribute to background materials for coding workgroups and strategic discussions.
- Provide strategic advice and technical support on insurance coverage, payment policy, and payer issues.
- Monitor, triage, and coordinate follow-up for the payment policy inbox.
- Maintain or support maintenance of the industry consulting program tracker and related follow-up.
- Provide practice management support (coding, billing, claims) as needed for meetings or member inquiries.
- Offer expert-level technical guidance on the use of urology-related codes.
Qualifications/Background Profile:
- Strong knowledge and experience in medical coding and reimbursement; urology coding experience strongly preferred.
- CPC certification required.
- Knowledge of AMA RUC and CPT processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work with large data sets.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent professional judgment.
- Experience with specialty societies, payer policy, and MAC LCDs preferred.

This job is Hybrid Remote.
Pay Range: Hourly $40.00 to $40.00
