Job Title: CNC Programmer / Scheduling Assistant
Location: Sea Girt, New Jersey

Type: Contract-to-Hire
Compensation: $25/hr - $30/hr
Contractor Work Model: Onsite (Sea Girt, NJ)
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (some OT)

CNC Programmer Position Summary:
  • We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to support machining operations in our steel processing facility. This role is responsible for creating and modifying CNC programs for milling and machining equipment including SNK, Okuma, Fadal, and Yama Seiki machines with FANUC controls.
  • The CNC Programmer will work closely with machinists, production supervisors, and quality personnel to ensure parts are produced accurately and efficiently according to customer specifications.

CNC Programmer Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and edit CNC programs for machining operations using FANUC-controlled equipment
  • Support machining operations on equipment including SNK, Okuma, Fadal, and Yama Seiki machines
  • Read and interpret customer drawings, blueprints, and work orders to ensure accurate part production
  • Assist machinists with program adjustments, setup support, and troubleshooting when needed
  • Verify programs and make necessary edits to ensure parts meet dimensional requirements
  • Maintain organized program files and documentation
  • Review daily production priorities to help support efficient workflow
  • Work with production and quality teams to ensure parts meet quality standards
  • Follow all quality control (QC) policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the CNC Programmer role

CNC Programmer Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Basic experience programming or editing programs for CNC machines with FANUC controls
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
  • Understanding of basic machining processes such as milling, drilling, and boring
  • Familiarity with G-code and CNC machine operations
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with machinists and production staff
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word

CNC Programmer Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical school training or coursework in Machining or Manufacturing Technology preferred
  • 1–3 years of CNC programming or CNC machining experience preferred
  • Experience with FANUC controls preferred

CNC Programmer Expectations:
  • Communicate job-related updates and issues with supervisors and production staff
  • Follow established production and quality procedures
  • Support efficient machining operations and production schedules
  • Perform all duties in compliance with company safety policies
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Report safety concerns or incidents promptly
  • Perform all assigned duties related to the CNC Programmer position
