Position Overview

The CNC Programmer will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC milling, turning, Laser, router and Brake machine tools to produce precision components according to engineering specifications. The ideal candidate has experience with CNC programming (preferably using BobCad, Jetcam, Amada or similar software), strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, laser, router and brakes) to manufacture precision parts.
  • Interpret and modify blueprints, drawings, and CAD models to create accurate programs.
  • Develop and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure consistent quality.
  • Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters for each job.
  • Perform machine setups, offsets, and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
  • Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or deviations and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot machining issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain machine tools, work areas, and equipment in a clean and safe condition.
  • Follow all company safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or associate degree preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in CNC machining and programming.
  • Proficiency with CNC programming software (e.g., BobCad, Jetcam, Amada or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T symbols.
  • Skilled in precision measurement and quality inspection tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred:

  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machines.
  • Background in working with various metals and materials (aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, etc.).
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate machinery safely and accurately.
