Position Overview
System One is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support precision manufacturing operations in Richland, Washington. This role involves working with high-precision components in a regulated environment, supporting production machining for fuel assembly fabrication. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret design drawings, solid models, and specifications to fabricate high-precision components
Support production machining for both large and small components
Set up and operate CNC and conventional lathes, milling machines, grinders, heat treat furnaces, and saw equipment
Perform troubleshooting and maintain a high level of attention to detail
Maintain required records, logs, and documentation
Follow all plant work rules, regulations, and safety procedures
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Suggest improvements to work methods and procedures
Properly handle hazardous materials
Support other production areas as needed during downtime
Travel to nuclear sites as required
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2+ years of machining or related experience
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and instructions
Ability to use inspection tools and record data accurately
Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machining processes
Preferred Qualifications
Two-year Machine Technology certificate
Knowledge of metalworking and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Understanding of component inspection requirements
Experience designing or working with jigs, fixtures, and templates
Knowledge of cutting tool geometry and applications
