Job Title: CNC Machinist – Contract to Hire
Location: Richland, Washington
Company: System One
Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Compensation: $28.00 – $34.00 per hour
Additional Benefits: Holiday pay and 6-month bonus
Position Type: Contract to Hire

Position Overview
System One is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support precision manufacturing operations in Richland, Washington. This role involves working with high-precision components in a regulated environment, supporting production machining for fuel assembly fabrication. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret design drawings, solid models, and specifications to fabricate high-precision components

  • Support production machining for both large and small components

  • Set up and operate CNC and conventional lathes, milling machines, grinders, heat treat furnaces, and saw equipment

  • Perform troubleshooting and maintain a high level of attention to detail

  • Maintain required records, logs, and documentation

  • Follow all plant work rules, regulations, and safety procedures

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

  • Suggest improvements to work methods and procedures

  • Properly handle hazardous materials

  • Support other production areas as needed during downtime

  • Travel to nuclear sites as required

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 2+ years of machining or related experience

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and instructions

  • Ability to use inspection tools and record data accurately

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machining processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two-year Machine Technology certificate

  • Knowledge of metalworking and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Understanding of component inspection requirements

  • Experience designing or working with jigs, fixtures, and templates

  • Knowledge of cutting tool geometry and applications
