Responsibilities
- Operate multiple CNC machines efficiently, requiring simultaneous operations.
- Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of machines for complex production operations.
- Interpret customer requirements from blueprints, complex drawings, and engineering specifications.
- Interface with engineering to resolve drawing errors and suggest design changes.
- Implement manufacturing methods using standard production machines and tooling.
- Make complex setups with multiple workpiece stations.
- Develop and define processes with limited documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining problems.
- Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness, accuracy, and reliability.
- Perform statistical process control (SPC) specific to division requirements.
- Utilize advanced shop mathematics and knowledge of metal characteristics.
- Contribute to lean initiatives and apply lean concepts and tools.
- Provide guidance in coordinating workload priorities based on business demand.
- Observe all company policies and procedures, including safety rules.
- Train and mentor less experienced team members.
- Perform other related responsibilities as requested.
Qualifications
- Five or more years of machining experience in a high technology manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work with minimal supervisory guidance.
- Handle multiple tasks with changing priorities to meet customer needs.
- May require specialized certification specific to division requirements.
- Read, understand, and follow blueprints and engineering specifications.
- Make and evaluate precision machine setups.
- Implement lean initiatives.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills and work in a team environment.
- Possess mentoring and training skills.
- Interpret reports and use job-specific software applications.
- Participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.
Typical Mental and Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods. Manual dexterity and the use of hands to operate machinery are required. Specific vision abilities include close vision. Regular attendance and the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others are expected. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
