QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational machining training
preferred.
 Demonstrated experience operating manual and CNC equipment, including lathes and
mills; CNC programming exposure (G-code and/or CAM systems) preferred.
 Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and specifications
to produce prototype and production components.
 Experience fabricating prototype, one-off, and low-volume precision components,
tooling, and fixtures.
 Working knowledge of precision inspection methods and measuring equipment.
 Strong understanding of shop math, tolerances, materials, machining processes, and
tooling selection.
 Familiarity with ISO-regulated and FDA-regulated manufacturing environments and
documentation practices preferred.
 Machinist I/II/III progression aligned with demonstrated skill level, experience, and
complexity of work performed.
 Experience – Machinist: Typically 3–5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing
or tool room environment.
 Experience – Lead Machinist: Typically 7–10 years of machining experience with
demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and work coordination responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment including lathes, mills,
grinders, and related tool room equipment.
 Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, and GD&T to
manufacture production and prototype components.
 Fabricate, repair, and modify components, tooling, fixtures, and prototype parts to
specification.
 Use precision inspection tools to verify dimensional accuracy and conformance.
 Apply shop mathematics, tolerances, material properties, and machining methods.
 Support manufacturing, engineering, and R&D through timely completion of work
orders.
 Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tool room environment.
