Job title : CNC Machinist (Manual)

Client : Aerospace Industry

Duration : Full Time Permanent

Location : Carson City, NV 89706

Shift : 3rd shift: 9 pm to 6:30 am
Role Overview
  • Responsible for operating and maintaining machining equipment to produce high-precision aerospace components.
  • Works in a 3rd shift manufacturing environment focusing on quality, safety, and productivity.
  • Performs manual machining operations, tool adjustments, and inspections to ensure parts meet tight tolerances and specifications.
  • Operates with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machining equipment and perform manual machining tasks
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
  • Set up machines, align fixtures, and secure materials
  • Adjust machine feeds, speeds, and replace cutting tools as needed
  • Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and inspection tools
  • Maintain close tolerance manufacturing standards and ensure product quality
  • Conduct routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Complete inspection and production documentation
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and material handling equipment
  • Follow all safety, quality, and environmental policies
  • Maintain clean and organized work area (housekeeping standards)
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment and follow supervisor instructions

Must Have

  • Minimum 2 years of manual machining experience (non-automated environment)
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and GDandT
  • Experience with inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
  • Knowledge of machine setup, tool changes, feeds and speeds
  • Ability to work 3rd shift and in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice to Have

  • Trade school certification in machining or related field
  • Experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing
  • Experience operating overhead cranes
  • Knowledge of CNC machining (basic exposure)
  • Experience with machine maintenance/troubleshooting
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office / Outlook)
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement exposure
