Job Description
As a Lathe Machinist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of CNC and manual machining equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality and safety while meeting production goals. This role is integral to our ongoing commitment to excellence in the aerospace industry.
Responsibilities
- Notify supervisor of abnormal situations for corrective action.
- Make recommendations for improvements in methods of performance of work.
- Maintain good housekeeping conditions and enforce safety practices.
- Complete and maintain any required documentation.
- Strong Geometric Dimensional & Tolerances and math skills.
- Ability to reach machining CNC programs and have a basic understanding of common 'G' and 'M' codes.
- Experience with Siemens controls for lathe machine tools.
- Understanding of basic tabletop gages such as Micrometers, Calipers, and bore micrometers.
- Capacity to run multiple machines at once is a must.
- Experience with Okuma machines including Captain L370W, Impact LU15, and LB3000 base controls.
- Experience with Multi Spindles like MS52 and Swiss lathe experience with more than 5 years on the machine.
- Proficiency with Siemens Controls and Fanuc.
- Experience in manual machining with equipment such as Bridgeport, Protrak RLX, and Track DPM.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Organization and time management skills.
- Problem-solving and analysis capabilities.
