Volt is immediately hiring for CNC Lathe Set-Up Machinist in San Diego, CA.
As a CNC Lathe Set-Up Machinist, you will:
- Set up CNC lathes, aligning tooling, establishing offsets, and preparing equipment for production runs.
- Review and verify CNC programs, making necessary adjustments for quality machining.
- Perform first?piece and in?process inspections using precision measurement tools.
- Maintain documentation and follow ISO 9000 production standards.
- Collaborate with the supervisor during technical discussions and hands?on demonstrations as needed.
- Troubleshoot machining issues, perform basic machine maintenance, and keep work areas clean and organized.
- Assist with tasks like de?burring, minor rework, and assembly.
- Support the training of junior machinists or machine operators.
This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of CNC machining and set?up experience in a job?shop or high?volume environment.
- Strong understanding of blueprints, tolerances, and advanced machining math.
- Experience working with CNC programming codes and performing complex set?ups.
- Ability to interpret written instructions and work with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of feeds, speeds, tooling, and true position tolerancing.
- Experience setting up or operating Haas CNC lathes.
- Prior exposure to hands?on machining demonstrations during interviews or training.
Pay Rate: $28/hr. – $38/hr.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
