The Tool Grinder is responsible for manufacturing, sharpening, reconditioning, and maintaining cutting tools and precision components used in machining and production operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, blueprint reading skills, and proficiency with manual and CNC grinding equipment to ensure tools meet exact specifications and quality standards.

Job Details
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate manual and CNC grinding machines, including surface, cylindrical, and tool & cutter grinders
Grind, sharpen, and recondition cutting tools such as drills, end mills, reamers, and special form tools
Read and interpret blueprints, tool drawings, and specifications
Select proper grinding wheels, fixtures, and tooling based on material and tolerance requirements
Inspect finished tools using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, optical comparators)
Maintain tight tolerances and surface finish requirements
Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
Document tool specifications, adjustments, and inspection results as required
Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and supervisors to troubleshoot tooling issues and improve tool performance
Follow all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards (5S/6S)
