Cloud Systems Engineer

Precision Resources, a division of the Trimarc Group Inc., is currently seeking an experienced Cloud Systems Engineer to join a client in Birmingham, Alabama.  This is a hybrid position that will require working onsite for a minimum of three (3) days each week.

Position Summary:

The Cloud Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, migration, and ongoing management of cloud-based infrastructure with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure. 

The Cloud Systems Engineer will be: 

• At the forefront of enhancing our client’s Enterprise IT services and will support mission-critical workloads.
• An integral part of the entire system lifecycle—from requirements analysis and architecture design to secure integration, deployment, documentation and transition to operations.
• Leading efforts to migrate on‑premises workloads to the cloud, manage hybrid environments, ensure security and compliance standards are met and optimize cloud costs.
• Supporting modern workplace technologies such as Azure Virtual Desktop and emerging AI tooling, while collaborating closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams.
• Implementing Azure identity and access solutions such as Azure AD, Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Collaborating with network and security teams to ensure seamless connectivity, effective segmentation, and regulatory compliance. 

This role calls for a strong technical aptitude in Azure platform services, identity management, automation, and infrastructure-as-code, with an emphasis on collaboration across engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure setup, administration, and operations.
• Proven experience migrating on‑premises servers and workloads to the cloud.
• Experience managing and optimizing cloud costs.
• Solid background in on‑premises Active Directory and GPO management, with an understanding of security frameworks such as CIS.
• Experience deploying and managing Azure Virtual Desktop / Microsoft 365 Cloud PC.
• Previous experience with Scripting and Automation.
• Experience supporting or managing AI-related tools or platforms.
• Experience with Microsoft Intune for endpoint management.
• Experience with Windows Autopilot for device provisioning and lifecycle management.
• Additional experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) highly desired.
