Cloud Security Engineer

Position: Cloud Security Engineer

Location: 12+ Month Contract (Strong potential to extend multiple years)

Location: Austin, TX

Client: TXDOT // APEX SYSTEMS

Rate : $70 to 80/hr on C2C (AI)

This role requires onsite presence 4–5 days per week. Candidates must reside in the Austin area and be authorized to work in the U.S.

DUTIES
The Tools Team Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for
designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across multiple
cloud platform environments (Google, AWS, Azure. Etc). This role ensures the
confidentiality, integrity, and availability of cloud hosted applications,
data, and infrastructure by applying best practices in identity, network,
data protection, monitoring, and compliance. Selected individual will be
responsible for implementing and maintaining the current Cloud Security
Monitoring tool deployed by team.

Team member will provide services in the following areas:

• Maintain Cloud Security Monitoring Tool
• Develop and implement automated security controls and guardrails across GCP environments.
• Maintain compliance with internal security standards and external regulatory frameworks through audits, remediation, and continuous monitoring

Minimum Yrs of Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

Years Skills/Experience 8 Designing and managing Cloud solutions (Google, AWS, Azure) 8 Hands-on experience performing risk assessments, vulnerability management, incident response, and cloud architecture task 8 Incident response, risk management, cybersecurity fundamentals, container security, and DevSecOps 8 Effective, professional business communication and reporting 8 Knowledge and hands on experience using Cloud Security Monitoring Tools (Ex WIZ, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Tenable Cloud Security)

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

Years Skills/Experience Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification Experience with Cloud KMS, Cloud Armor, SCC, GKE, DLP, and Chronicle Familiarity with DevSecOps, container security, and automated policy enforcemen
