ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking Automation Engineers to join our DevOps practice. While each engineer will bring a primary strength in either cloud or on-premise technologies, both profiles work together across our DevOps teams, building broad expertise in infrastructure automation, CI/CD, and platform support. You'll have a designated team home but will routinely participate in cross-team projects, training, and knowledge sharing, gaining hands-on exposure to a diverse set of tooling and environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build, maintain, and support CI/CD pipelines and automation across cloud environments (GitLab, AWS, EKS, Terraform, Docker) and on-premise environments (Jenkins, OpenShift, Ansible)
  • Ensure pipelines are reliable, observable, and aligned with security and compliance requirements
  • Continuously improve pipeline performance, maintainability, and developer experience
  • Participate in infrastructure provisioning and application deployment automation across both cloud and on-prem platforms
  • Contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices using Terraform and Ansible
  • Support containerized workload deployments on EKS and OpenShift
  • Troubleshoot deployment failures, monitoring gaps, and security automation issues across all supported platforms
  • Document root cause findings and implement durable fixes
  • Identify and drive incremental improvements to platform stability and operational efficiency
  • Engage actively with both cloud and on-prem teams through onboarding, peer programming, and joint solutioning
  • Proactively build fluency in your secondary stack — cloud engineers learning on-prem practices and vice versa
  • Participate in cross-team projects that span both environments
  • Share learnings, patterns, and best practices across the DevOps organization
  • Contribute to reducing silos by documenting solutions and making them accessible to the broader team
  • Help accelerate overall capability through mentoring, demos, and collaborative problem solving

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Must have an active Secret clearance or above
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling — GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent
  • Proficiency in at least one infrastructure-as-code tool such as Terraform or Ansible
  • Working knowledge of containerization with Docker and orchestration concepts (Kubernetes/EKS or OpenShift)
  • Scripting ability in Bash, Python, or a similar language for automation tasks
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a systematic approach to diagnosing platform issues

Preferred

  • Experience with AWS services relevant to DevOps workloads (EC2, EKS, IAM, S3, CloudWatch)
  • Familiarity with OpenShift for on-premise container orchestration
  • Exposure to security automation, secrets management, and compliance-as-code practices
  • Experience working across both cloud and on-prem environments
  • Strong documentation habits and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to peers
