What We're Looking For:
  • Education: 4 Year/Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) Certification. PharmD, preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in health system pharmacy. Oncology experience preferred for oncology roles, required.
    • For Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship roles: ASHP - accredited PGY2 Infectious Disease residency OR minimum of 2 years of equivalent clinical pharmacy experience in infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship, required.
  • Licensure/Certification:  
    • Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date by either examination or reciprocity, required.
    • Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification or other approved certification must be obtained and continuously maintained within 2 years of start date as applicable to the role, required.
  • Additional skills required: Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team.
What You'll Do:

Role Overview

  • Provide pharmaceutical care to patients of all age groups
  • Deliver direct patient care in:
    • Intensive Care Units (ICUs)
    • Emergency Department (ED)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize medication therapy using evidence-based practices

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in critical care consults and emergency response (codes)
  • Provide ICU and ED coverage, including support for four non-24-hour facilities
  • Work as part of a dedicated ICU pharmacist team providing 24/7 coverage
  • Support hospital performance on national quality indicators, especially during patient admissions
  • Contribute to:
    • Staff education and in-services
    • Policy and process development
    • Departmental or hospital committees
  • Serve as a preceptor for students and/or residents

Time Allocation

  • 喙 Direct Patient Care: 60%
  •  Order Verification/Distribution: 20%
  •  Education: 15%
  •  Administrative Duties: 5%
