Clinical Pharmacist Opportunity
Location: Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NH NHRMC)
Work Schedule: Night shift working 7 on 7 off

- Education: 4 Year/Bachelors Degree, required. Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) Certification. PharmD, preferred.
- Experience:
- Postgraduate year 1 residency or fellowship OR two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in health system pharmacy. Oncology experience preferred for oncology roles, required.
- For Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship roles: ASHP - accredited PGY2 Infectious Disease residency OR minimum of 2 years of equivalent clinical pharmacy experience in infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship, required.
- Licensure/Certification:
- Current Pharmacy licensure in appropriate state(s) or must be completed within 30 days of start date by either examination or reciprocity, required.
- Board of Pharmacy Specialties Certification or other approved certification must be obtained and continuously maintained within 2 years of start date as applicable to the role, required.
- Additional skills required: Other duties as outlined in Novant Health and facility specific policies and procedures. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed. Ability to work as part of a high performing, change ready and resilient team.
Role Overview
- Provide pharmaceutical care to patients of all age groups
- Deliver direct patient care in:
- Intensive Care Units (ICUs)
- Emergency Department (ED)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize medication therapy using evidence-based practices
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in critical care consults and emergency response (codes)
- Provide ICU and ED coverage, including support for four non-24-hour facilities
- Work as part of a dedicated ICU pharmacist team providing 24/7 coverage
- Support hospital performance on national quality indicators, especially during patient admissions
- Contribute to:
- Staff education and in-services
- Policy and process development
- Departmental or hospital committees
- Serve as a preceptor for students and/or residents
