The Clinical Nutrition Manager serves as the department’s primary representative for clinical nutritional activities. These include providing direction and guidance for overall clinical nutrition services program, assisting in the development of long-range strategic plans, establishing the highest caliber standards of care, supervising the staff development of professional personnel in the clinical services area, establishing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, and maintaining effective communications with other departmental managers and interdepartmental liaisons. Works closely with the Patient Services Manager and Executive Chef to ensure the patient menus meet appropriate dietary guidelines.

 

SHIFT & SCHEDULE: 

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

  • Supervises the clinical dietitians, call center staff and dietetic interns.
  • Develops policies and procedures relating to clinical service areas.
  • Manages the dietetic internship program and all interns/shadowing students.
  • Acts as liaison between the Universities and Midland Memorial Hospital for all dietetic internship programs.
  • Works closely with the room service Call Center to make sure patients’ meals are delivered accordingly to diet guidelines.
  • This position will be 70% assessing and educating patients and 30% coordinating/managing the clinical nutrition team.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or related field. Prefer Master’s Degree.
  • Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Must be licensed in the State of Texas or able to obtain licensure within 6 months of hire date.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years hospital experience as a dietitian.
  • Prefer 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
