Clinical Medical Assistant Lead – Staff Scheduling

We are seeking a hands-on Clinical Medical Assistant Lead to support daily operations and staffing of the medical assistant (MA) team within a busy orthopedic practice. This role combines direct patient care with leadership responsibilities, ensuring efficient clinic flow, strong team performance, and an excellent patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate daily MA staffing, schedules, and coverage to support clinic needs
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and competency support to MA staff; assist with onboarding and training
• Assist providers with orthopedic procedures, including injections, casting, splinting, and brace application
• Oversee patient flow to maximize efficiency and minimize wait times
• Room patients, obtain vitals, and accurately document medical histories in the EMR
• Prepare patients for exams and procedures and provide patient education
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and prepared for clinic operations
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards
• Support quality initiatives and ensure adherence to clinical protocols and documentation standards
• Assist with supply management, inventory control, and workflow improvements
• Collaborate with leadership and participate in staff meetings and operational initiatives

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; CMA/RMA preferred
• 3–5 years of clinical experience, preferably in orthopedics or specialty care
• Experience in clinical coordination, compliance, or leadership preferred
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and clinical workflows
• Experience with EMR systems and documentation processes
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
