Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic team in Clinical Laboratory Services. This position plays a crucial role in providing accurate and timely diagnostic testing to support patient care across various hospitals
+ Perform a wide range of laboratory tests in multiple disciplines, including:
+ Hematology: Complete blood counts, coagulation studies, blood bank procedures
+ Chemistry: Electrolytes, enzymes, hormones, drug levels
+ Microbiology: Bacterial culture and identification, antimicrobial susceptibility testing
+ Immunology: Autoantibody testing, serological markers
+ Urinalysis and Body Fluids: Microscopic examination, chemical analysis
+ Molecular Diagnostics: PCR testing, genetic analysis
+ Operate and maintain complex laboratory equipment, including analyzers, microscopes, and automated systems
+ Ensure proper specimen handling, processing, and analysis
+ Maintain accurate and detailed records of all tests performed
+ Adhere to strict quality control procedures and safety protocols
+ Participate in departmental quality assurance activities and proficiency testing
+ Collaborate effectively with other laboratory personnel, physicians, and nurses
+ Assist with training and mentoring of new staff members
+ Contribute to the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures
Qualifications
+ Minimum one year of experience in an acute care facility required.
+ Required training in Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Microbiology, Immunology, and Serology as applicable.
+ B.A./B.S. required
+ Windows Operating System.
+ Knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel is helpful.
+ California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License or Limited California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License, California Clinical Immunohematologist Scientist License, California Clinical Microbiologist Scientist License are required and ASCP registry preferred
+ Current Los Angeles County fire card is required.
+ For direct patient care AHA BLS certification is required for CLS drawing blood donors only.
