Job Summary and Qualifications

The Respiratory Therapy Clinical Coordinator will coordinate and implement orientation, training and continuing respiratory education to staff, patients and physicians according to established standards and practices. The individual in this role works with minimal supervision and carries out routine medical, technical, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Serves as an expert and resource to staff and managers in regards to patient care standards for area of clinical specialty. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion as well as independent judgement. Manages large performance improvement and quality initiatives for the Respiratory Therapy Department. Essential functions include but are not limited to: Provides training for respiratory staff – training/orientation for new therapists. Provides educational training for new procedures. Creates and maintains training material for respiratory staff. Researches and develops education for new equipment and procedures; revises and maintains existing procedures as they are modified; assists with revision and creation of policies. Develops teaching materials and educational classes such as annual clinical competencies; manages equipment and assets for the Respiratory Department. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Associate Degree in Respiratory
  • (NBRC-RRT) Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • (RRT-State) Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Minimum of 5 years respiratory experience required
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • NRP - Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
