Job Description:
The Office of Information Systems is seeking a full-time, detail-oriented Inventory Management Specialist to manage our inventory operations.
This individual must be analytical, highly organized, and detail-oriented, with a solid understanding of inventory management principles and experience using inventory systems (preferably Fishbowl). Inventory levels must be maintained in alignment with the needs of field technicians and engineers. The role requires careful oversight of inventory flow into and out of storage locations.
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage inventory based on Network Services' requirements
Perform regular audits and manage daily physical cycle counts; reconcile discrepancies
Maintain clear, accurate inventory reports for stakeholders
Forecast inventory needs to manage procurement and space
Receive inventory at loading dock; verify against shipping documents
Coordinate logistics for timely and accurate stock delivery
Retrieve and prepare equipment for use by technicians and engineers
Train staff on inventory systems and best practices
Track inventory using software systems and manual processes
Develop and implement inventory control procedures under management guidance
Track and report inventory-related KPIs
Perform essential inventory tasks to maintain stock levels
Maintain updated inventory records for incoming and outgoing equipment
Communicate with management regarding order needs
Plan and execute inventory control techniques to avoid shortages/excesses
Manage and update inventory databases, systems, and spreadsheets
Handle multiple tasks and pivot responsibilities as needed
Track vendor quotes, purchase orders, and packing slips for accuracy and payment approval
Qualifications:
Proven experience in inventory management or similar role
Solid understanding of inventory management processes and software
Strong data entry, analysis, and forecasting skills
Ability to lift and carry heavy items
Excellent organizational, planning, and analytical abilities
High attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient in mathematics
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Ability to pass a background check
Strong communication, data management, and multitasking skills
