Location: Antietam School District – Kerry C. Hoffman Intermediate School
Pay Rate: $15.50/hour
Shift: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities

  • Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students, including those with IEPs or special needs

  • Help students complete assignments and projects, ensuring engagement and understanding

  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment

  • Monitor student progress and behavior, documenting observations as needed

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to implement strategies for student success

  • Assist with classroom organization, materials, and resources

  • Support students during transitions, lunch, recess, and other non-instructional periods

  • Participate in professional development to enhance skills and knowledge


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Experience working with children or adolescents in educational settings preferred

  • Familiarity with special education principles or willingness to learn

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents

  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed

  • Ability to follow directions, work independently, and collaborate effectively

  • Flexibility to meet the diverse needs of students and adapt to changing priorities

  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology preferred
