Pay range: $25 - $28/hr based on experience

Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm (overtime as needed on Friday & Saturday)

Position Summary

The Class 2 Welder is responsible for welding and fitting stainless steel components as part of a collaborative production team. This role supports the fabrication and assembly of high-quality piping systems and metal weldments to meet customer and Butting standards.

The ideal candidate can read blueprints, perform precise fit-up and welding, and work efficiently to meet production demands while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality. This position requires dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to work across multiple projects in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• 5 - 8 years’ welding and layout experience required.
• Extensive TIG welding experience is essential, with a strong focus on stainless steel applications.
• Experience with pipe welding, including fit-up and welding techniques, is strongly preferred.
• Technical diploma or associate degree in Welding Technology or related field preferred.
• AWS or ASME welding certifications preferred or ability to obtain
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety compliance.
• Experience with non-destructive testing methods (visual inspection, dye penetrant testing, X-ray).
• Familiarity with applicable welding and material standards (AWS, ASME) and MTR verification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality system frameworks.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute standard welding and fabrication tasks based on blueprints, and customer specifications.
• Setup, operate, and maintain welding equipment.
• Perform inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Provide training and mentorship to welding staff on procedures, standards, and safety.
• Apply all applicable safety regulations and PPE requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely project completion.
• Operate hand tools, shop machinery, and hydraulic brake press.
• Perform MIG and TIG welding to a high standard of quality and efficiency.
• In-depth knowledge of metals manufacturing processes and materials testing.
• Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
• Effective leadership, communication, and team collaboration.
• Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Strong understanding of quality systems and regulatory compliance.
