Class 2 Welder/Fabricator

Job Type: Full-Time
Pay range: $25 - $28/hr based on experience
Shift: Monday – Thursday, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm (overtime as needed on Friday & Saturday)
Position Summary
The Class 2 Welder is responsible for welding and fitting stainless steel components as part of a collaborative production team. This role supports the fabrication and assembly of high-quality piping systems and metal weldments to meet customer and Butting standards.
The ideal candidate can read blueprints, perform precise fit-up and welding, and work efficiently to meet production demands while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality. This position requires dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to work across multiple projects in a team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
- 5 - 8 years’ welding and layout experience required.
- Extensive TIG welding experience is essential, with a strong focus on stainless steel applications.
- Experience with pipe welding, including fit-up and welding techniques, is strongly preferred.
- Technical diploma or associate degree in Welding Technology or related field preferred.
- AWS or ASME welding certifications preferred or ability to obtain
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety compliance.
- Experience with non-destructive testing methods (visual inspection, dye penetrant testing, X-ray).
- Familiarity with applicable welding and material standards (AWS, ASME) and MTR verification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality system frameworks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute standard welding and fabrication tasks based on blueprints, and customer specifications.
- Setup, operate, and maintain welding equipment.
- Perform inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Provide training and mentorship to welding staff on procedures, standards, and safety.
- Apply all applicable safety regulations and PPE requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely project completion.
- Operate hand tools, shop machinery, and hydraulic brake press.
- Perform MIG and TIG welding to a high standard of quality and efficiency.
- In-depth knowledge of metals manufacturing processes and materials testing.
- Analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail.

- Strong understanding of quality systems and regulatory compliance.
