Position Overview:

An established peer-review and compliance organization is seeking a candidate with experience in billing and coding with a claims background for a Claims Specialist - Registered Nurse role. The position supports independent dispute resolutions through CMS (Center for Medicaid Services). Experience with multispecialty coding and billing is highly preferred.

Qualifications:

• Job qualifications & certifications:
  • Active NY RN license
  • Experience in billing, reimbursement, or utilization review
  • Knowledge of payer policies and CMS guidelines
• Skills:
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to interpret policies and coverage criteria
  • Analytical thinking

Key Responsibilities:

• Review medical records for medical necessity and coverage
• Support appeals and pre-authorization processes
• Interpret clinical data for revenue cycle teams
• Liaise with payers to resolve disputes
• Ensure documentation supports reimbursement
