Job Description:
Theoris Services is assisting our client in their search for a Civil/Structural Engineer to add to their growing team. Our client is seeking an individual to support the design and engineering of steel storage tanks and associated foundations. This role will be responsible for developing detailed designs, performing engineering calculations, and ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, sales, and project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop steel storage tank systems and foundations using AutoCAD (ACAD)
- Analyze customer requirements and translate them into effective project designs
- Perform engineering calculations to ensure designs meet project, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Provide engineering support for shop fabrication, field activities, and safety evaluations
- Utilize Excel and STAAD software for structural analysis and calculations
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, customers, sales teams, and project managers to deliver customer-focused solutions
- Create detailed drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related discipline)
- Strong experience with AutoCAD (ACAD)
- Working knowledge of STAAD or similar structural analysis software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for engineering calculations
- Solid understanding of structural design principles and steel construction
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Prior experience designing steel storage tanks or similar large steel structures
- Experience supporting fabrication and field construction activities
- Familiarity with applicable industry codes and standards
