Civil Staff Engineering Technician-Water
Location: Orlando, FL, Jacksonville, FL or Tampa, FL
Onsite 5 days per week (no remote option)

Must reside within 50 miles of one of the following COMPANY offices:

Position Overview
  • Supports multidisciplinary project teams within the Government & Communities Market Sector, focusing on Water & Industrial Water infrastructure.
  • Contributes to civil site development efforts, including grading, drainage, erosion control, roadways, fencing, and underground utilities.
  • Functions in a project engineering technician capacity under general supervision.
  • Develops and modifies technical deliverables using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and modify moderately complex design concepts and technical deliverables.
  • Utilize CAD/BIM/3D modeling tools to create, update, and maintain drawings and project documentation.
  • Apply foundational engineering principles and established design practices to support project design.
  • Review design inputs for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with project standards and applicable codes.
  • Apply and support the COMPANY Quality Program, ensuring accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Perform design calculations, material quantity takeoffs, and detailed estimates.
  • Review deliverables prepared by other team members.
  • Coordinate with other design groups to exchange project information and maintain alignment.
  • May define work assignments, maintain schedules, and provide technical guidance to other technicians.
  • Support field activities as needed, including understanding internal and external client priorities.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and processes relevant to civil design.
Required Technical Skills
  • Advanced Autodesk Civil 3D experience, including:
  • Pipe and pressure networks
  • Proposed grading and surfaces
  • Plan/profile development
Familiarity with:
  • Alignments
  • Plan & profiles
  • Grading workflows
  • Pipe network modeling
  • Experience with Bentley MicroStation is beneficial.
Education & Experience Requirements
Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related civil engineering technician experience.
Background in civil site development, water infrastructure, or related engineering design disciplines preferred.
