Position Overview
We are seeking a Civil Associate Engineering Technician to support underground transmission line projects. This role works under general supervision to assist engineering teams in developing and modifying technical deliverables, with a strong focus on plan and profile development.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation and a foundational understanding of civil design principles related to transmission and utility infrastructure projects.
This position is fully onsite in Tualatin, OR. Candidates must be local to the area. Relocation assistance is not available.
Key Responsibilities
Support engineering teams in the preparation and modification of civil design deliverables.
Develop plan and profile drawings for underground transmission line projects using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation.
Create and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project records.
Interpret design inputs and ensure deliverables meet project standards and quality expectations.
Perform basic calculations including material quantity takeoffs and dimensional checks.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to minimize design conflicts and improve project efficiency.
Apply document control procedures and quality standards to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Support continuous improvement efforts and remain current on evolving tools and processes.
Begin providing guidance and mentorship to junior technicians as experience develops.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of related civil drafting/design experience.
Experience using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley MicroStation.
Basic Civil 3D proficiency, including:
Alignments
Plan and profile development
Section views
Preferred Qualifications
Diploma or technical certificate required.
Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Design Technology, or a related field preferred.
Additional Requirements
Ability to complete pre-employment screening requirements, which may include background checks, drug screening, and motor vehicle record review in compliance with applicable laws.
