Child Care Attendant Mentor Fitness Center- PRN - (250005YY)

 What You Will Do

• Supervise and assist children in the child care center while following the established daily activities, provide excellent customer service while checking-in and checking-out parents and children and answering phones, and maintain cleanliness of childcare center
• Supervise, observe and interact with children of various ages and maintain discipline to ensure a safe, kid-friendly environment
• Assist with bathroom activities and change diapers when necessary
• Ensure the safety of the children by monitoring environment and taking action when needed
• Orient parents on policies and procedures
• Check-in children and parents by name and with customer service awareness

Additional Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

 

 

Education

• High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and
• Associate's Degree in early childhood development or similar field (Preferred)

Work Experience

• 2+ years child care experience (Required) 
• 2+ years of work experience in child care environment (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of basic child care, including feeding and diapering, as well as understanding of infant and child development (Required proficiency)
• Awareness of age appropriate activities for children ages 6 weeks – 10 years (Required proficiency)
• Ability to communicate and interact with children and parents in an effective, positive and age-appropriate manner (Required proficiency)
• Basic computer skills including typing/keyboarding and ability to proficiently use a variety of software applications such as Microsoft Office (Preferred proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED (Required within 9 Months)
