Role overview
-------------
As Chief Security Officer, you will own the end‑to‑end security strategy for MemeHouse, including cybersecurity, data privacy, physical security, risk management, and executive protection. You will report directly to the CEO and act as the principal advisor on security, ensuring that our creator‑centric ecosystem remains safe, compliant, and resilient at scale.
You will lead security across:
- Creator, staff, and visitor safety (in‑person and livestreamed events).
- Protection of high‑value IP, unreleased content, and streaming platforms.
- Compliance‑adjacent risks arising from social platforms, UGC, and partner ecosystems.
- 24/7 incident readiness for anything that could impact brand, reputation, or creator trust.
Key responsibilities
--------------------
Security strategy & governance
------------------------------
- Develop and execute a comprehensive security strategy that aligns with MemeHouse’s growth, product roadmap, and creator‑first culture.
- Define and maintain security policies, standards, and playbooks for cybersecurity, data privacy, physical security, workplace‑violence prevention, and crisis response.
- Establish clear ownership and accountability across product, engineering, operations, events, and partnerships.
Cybersecurity & data protection
-------------------------------
- Protect MemeHouse’s infrastructure, applications, streaming platforms, and creator tools against threats targeting high‑traffic media environments.
- Oversee vulnerability management, threat monitoring, incident response, and disaster recovery for systems used by creators, partners, and audiences.
- Ensure compliance‑relevant controls (e.g., data privacy, content‑moderation‑adjacent obligations, platform‑specific requirements) are embedded in products and workflows.
Asset protection & production‑environment security
--------------------------------------------------
- Oversee asset protection and lifecycle management for a large inventory of high‑value production equipment used across MemeHouse’s creator spaces, including cameras, lighting, audio, broadcast, and streaming technology.
- Implement and enforce controls for inventory tracking, access, maintenance, secure storage, and movement of equipment to minimize loss, theft, damage, and downtime.
Physical security for creator content spaces
--------------------------------------------
- Lead the physical security program for multiple multi‑million‑dollar creator content spaces, including studios, production floors, and experience zones (e.g., MemeHouse LA and satellite locations).
- Design and maintain layered security measures such as access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, alarm systems, and visitor‑management protocols tailored to high‑traffic, creator‑driven environments.
Workplace‑violence prevention & safety culture
----------------------------------------------
- Develop and maintain workplace‑violence awareness and prevention programs, including protocols for handling threats, stalking, or harassment that may arise from creators, fans, or public‑facing content.
- Promote a security‑aware culture across teams, including regular training and communication for staff, creators, and on‑site partners.
Executive protection & personal security
----------------------------------------
- Oversee the executive protection program for the Founder and other key principals, including security of their homes and residences, daily commute and travel routes, and security during national and international travel, with a focus on low‑profile but high‑reliability coverage.
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal law‑enforcement agencies, as well as security vendors and internal travel/security teams, to ensure secure itineraries, accommodations, transportation, and contingency plans for high‑profile individuals.
Security operations & staffing oversight
----------------------------------------
- Direct and manage a daily security team of 10–20 security agents at local properties, including schedule planning, training, performance, and protocol enforcement.
- Oversee the deployment and coordination of 25–200 security personnel during special events, including large‑scale livestream‑first experiences, tours, and pop‑up activations, ensuring alignment with MemeHouse culture, safety, and brand standards.
Risk management & incident response
-----------------------------------
- Lead enterprise‑level risk assessments, covering cyber, physical, reputational, and operational risks tied to media, UGC, and creator‑driven content.
- Build and run incident‑response capabilities, including playbooks, tabletop exercises, and post‑incident review processes.
- Serve as the central point of contact during incidents, coordinating with legal, communications, creator relations, platform partners, and law enforcement as needed.
Compliance, privacy, and stakeholder alignment
----------------------------------------------
- Partner with legal, privacy, finance, and product leaders to embed security and risk considerations into contracts, partnerships, and product launches.
- Ensure alignment with relevant regulatory and platform‑specific obligations (e.g., data‑privacy frameworks, content‑policy requirements, creator‑protection standards).
- Prepare and present security posture, risk exposure, and investment priorities to executive leadership and, when applicable, board‑level stakeholders.
Reporting, audits, and oversight
--------------------------------
- Serve as the primary security executive for board‑level and investor‑level reporting, including security‑risk disclosures, incident summaries, and long‑term security‑investment strategy.
- Coordinate periodic independent security audits and assessments (cyber, physical, and compliance) and ensure findings are remediated on schedule.
Team & vendor leadership
------------------------
- Build and lead a security and risk organization, including internal security staff and external partners (forensics, monitoring, physical security, etc.).
- Define talent strategy, training programs, and KPIs that balance prevention, detection, and response for a fast‑moving media company.
- Manage security‑related vendor relationships and contracts, ensuring strong SLAs and crisis‑readiness.
Travel & work expectations
--------------------------
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally to support executive protection, special events, and site security operations.
- Flexibility to work non‑standard hours, weekends, and holidays as needed to support live‑event cycles, incident response, and executive‑protection schedules.
Qualifications

- Advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA, or MS in Cybersecurity/Criminal Justice) preferred.
Certifications
--------------
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or project‑management‑style credentials are strongly preferred.

- Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles (network security, application security, cloud, identity), incident response, and risk management.
- Solid experience with physical security programs, event security, and crisis management for venues or experiential activations.
- Strong background in regulatory and privacy‑adjacent frameworks (e.g., GDPR‑like concepts, CCPA, child‑safety, platform‑specific rules) as they apply to digital media.
Strongly preferred
------------------
- Former Secret Service or federal executive‑protection experience is highly preferred.
- Prior experience in private‑sector executive protection, close‑protection, or high‑net‑worth‑client security is also desirable.
Nice‑to‑have
------------
- Experience working with influencers, creators, or entertainment‑adjacent brands.
- Familiarity with livestream‑production stacks, UGC platforms, and social‑media ecosystems.
- Public‑facing or media‑technology experience (events, broadcasting, streaming software).
