Our client, a leader in scientific and clinical research within the beauty and hair care industry, is seeking a dedicated Niche Specialist to join their innovative team. As a Niche Specialist, you will be an integral part of the Research & Development department, supporting cutting-edge projects aimed at understanding and preventing damage from hair coloring and bleaching systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate analytical thinking, a proactive approach, and a passion for scientific discovery, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: Chemical Research Scientist (Oxidative Systems)
Location: Mason, OH
Pay Range: $30 – $49/hour depending on experience + Benefits
What's the Job?
- Conduct comprehensive research on oxidative chemistry, including hydrogen peroxide/ammonia and hydrogen peroxide/ammonium persulfate oxidant systems.
- Analyze hair chemistry and the complex interactions during coloring and bleaching processes.
- Identify mechanisms to prevent radical damage by controlling metal ions through chelation and incorporating radical scavenging antioxidants.
- Propose potential mechanisms of action to mitigate damage from hair coloring and bleaching systems based on scientific expertise.
- Review relevant literature, map experiments to confirm mechanisms, and identify effective interventions to prevent damage.

- Expertise in oxidative chemistry, particularly related to hair treatment systems.
- Strong understanding of hair chemistry and the chemistry involved in coloring and bleaching processes.
- Experience in designing and reviewing scientific experiments and interpreting complex data.
- Ability to identify key literature and translate findings into actionable solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a collaborative mindset.
