Should reside in a 5-mile radius of Arrowine, Northern Virginia, preferred
-Engage with customers, answer questions, and provide recommendations based on preferences.
-Gain an extensive knowledge of cheese varieties, aging processes, and pairing suggestions.
-Ensure proper storage and handling of cheese to maintain quality.
-Conduct cheese education sessions for customers and participate in promotional events.
-Track inventory and ensure the cheese selection is well-stocked and presented.
-Gain knowledge about different types of cured meats, their origins, and how they complement various cheeses.
-Enter data from paper documents into digital databases.
-Perform routine cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, and mopping.
-Keep the cheese and charcuterie displays clean and well-organized.
-Operating cash registers and processing payments.
Retail Cheesemonger and Gourmet Food Specialist
Being a cheesemonger is not just a "job," but a highly specialized and respected occupation with significant growth potential.
Although helpful, you don't need to have experience. But you do need to be extremely dedicated and hardworking, and have a desire to work with one of the "Best in the business."
Arrowine is in North Arlington and is open seven days a week. All of us work on Fridays, Saturdays, and some Sundays. Due to the nature of our business, we are unable to grant leave between October 15 and January 1, as those are our busiest times. We just wanted you to know this upfront.
