Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) oversees all financial operations and its affiliate organizations and serves as a strategic partner to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors. This role is responsible for financial strategy, compliance, reporting, and stewardship of federal and state contracts, private grants, and nonprofit funding. The CFO ensures strong fiscal controls, regulatory compliance, and long-term financial sustainability in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all financial operations, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
Ensure full compliance with federal grant funding, government contracts, nonprofit regulations, and GAAP
Oversee grant accounting, reporting, audits, and compliance with OMB Uniform Guidance and CFR requirements
Manage cash flow, investments, internal controls, and risk management
Prepare and present financial reports to executive leadership, Board, and funders
Oversee annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory submissions
Partner with leadership on strategic planning, financial modeling, and organizational growth
Lead and develop the accounting and finance team
Serve as financial liaison to auditors, funders, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies
Required Qualifications
Current CPA (Oklahoma) — Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 2+ years as CFO or equivalent
Strong experience with federal grant funding, nonprofit compliance, and fund accounting required.
Advanced knowledge of nonprofit accounting, GAAP, OMB Uniform Guidance (A-133), and CFRs
Proven experience leading audits, managing grants, and reporting to Boards and funders
Proficiency with accounting systems (Sage MIP or similar) and advanced Excel skills
Preferred
MBA
CFO or senior financial leadership experience in a nonprofit organization
Experience managing federally funded programs and contracts
