Project Manager/CWI Description

Project Manager Duties and Responsibilities

Over the course of a project, the Project Manager will need to communicate with staff and clients, make decisions and monitor the progress of the project to keep it on schedule. Important responsibilities for a Project Manager include:

Responsibilities of Project Manager

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement

Qualifications for Project Manager

  • 3-5 years of project management and related experience
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful

 

  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

CWI Responsibilities:

  • Verify WPS/WPQ compliance prior to start of production
  • Review drawings and  weld instructions and communicate to staff any important criteria
  • Witness/verify fit-up and joint prep readiness
  • Perform/oversee VT per acceptance criteria
  • Review NDT requests/results and disposition reject conditions
  • Approve weld repairs and verify repair conformance
  • Participate in hold-release criteria when specified
  • Support PPAP evidence pack (weld-related elements)

CWI Documentation Package:

  • Weld audit reports
  • VT inspection reports
  • Welder qualification verification log (as required)
  • Repair approvals and post-repair verification evidence
  • NDT review signoff (when required by customer/spec)
