Job Title: Pharmacy Technician (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Nashville, TN
Pay Rate: $24.45/hour
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Optional negotiated shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM (based on candidate preference and availability)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Nashville, TN. This role works under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist and supports prescription fulfillment, sterile compounding, inventory management, and pharmacy operations while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist to fill prescriptions and prepare IV medications
- Assist with sterile compounding activities in compliance with USP <797> standards (preferred experience)
- Enter prescription and billing data into the pharmacy computer system to support accurate dispensing and reimbursement
- Support prepackaging of medications according to pharmacy standards and government regulations
- Assist the Pharmacist with final prescription checks, including stating medications for RPh review and post-review packaging
- Coordinate accurate and timely delivery of medications to customers
- Maintain proper inventory practices, including receiving and rotating medications and supplies, tracking lot numbers and expiration dates, and assisting with physical inventory counts
- Support a clean and safe work environment by assisting with equipment calibration checks, safety procedures, and cleanliness standards
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Management, Billing Supervisor, and Technician Supervisor to ensure smooth daily operations
Required Qualifications
- Active Tennessee Pharmacy Technician License
- Ability to work onsite in Nashville, TN
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow regulated procedures
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented pharmacy environment
Preferred Qualifications
- PTCB Certification
- Prior sterile compounding (USP <797>) experience
- Experience working with pharmacy billing systems or reimbursement processes
