Position Overview:
The Certified Medical Coder will accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes to medical records, ensuring compliance with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and payer requirements. The position supports revenue integrity, audit readiness, and accurate reimbursement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review clinical documentation and assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific guidelines
- Query providers for clarification as needed
- Assist with coding audits and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain productivity and accuracy benchmarks
- Support coding education for internal teams and providers
Physical Examination Responsibilities:
- None or minimal; primarily office-based

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Job qualifications & certifications:
- Active CPC, CCS, or CCS-P certification required
- Minimum 2 years of professional or facility coding experience
- Strong knowledge of CMS, OIG, and payer documentation requirements
- Experience with multispecialty coding strongly preferred.
- Skills:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient in EHRs and coding software
