Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Perform not-stress tests (NST) as ordered by providers.
- Accurately document indication, assessment and results of NST, verifying results are linked to the order.
- Maintain NST equipment and facilitate repairs as needed.
- Maintain and order NST supplies.
- Assist in opening and closing exam rooms.
- Assist in cleaning instruments per protocol.
- Maintain and clean autoclave per protocol and facilitate repairs as needed.
- Perform weekly spore testing and documentation of results in appropriate logbook.
- Organize and maintain medical supplies, ordering supplies as needed.
- Assist in stocking exam and procedure rooms.
- Cover back office staff absences, as needed and as directed by nursing supervisor or clinic administrator.
- Maintain awareness of patient's needs via telephone and in-office, assist with rooming patients, incoming and outgoing telephone calls, procedures and scanning.
- Provide assistance for lab
- Collect and prepare blood and urine samples using a consistent patient labeling identification system for performing laboratory procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Obtain, label and process blood, culture and/or urine specimens as ordered by providers.
- Assure the reliability and safety of blood products utilizing appropriate collection and processing procedures to avoid inadequate specimens.
- Communicate results in a timely manner to appropriate health care personnel.
- Manage patient/provider wait times by alerting others or your needs.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.
- Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety and Risk Management guidelines.
- Maintain compliance with policies and procedures.
- Behave in a manner consistent with all HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as requested by Nursing Supervisor or Clinic Administrator

Skills Required:
- Phlebotomy training either by outside facility or appropriate experience as determined by physicians or nursing supervisor.
- Good communication, organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to adapt to changes in the workplace, duties and office policies.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills and ability to adapt to current office technology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Certified Nursing Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant.
- BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
