Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

A New York City nonprofit organization is actively seeking a certified Medical Assistant to focus on providing support to clinicians and patient care. The role involves both clinical and non-clinical duties.

About the Opportunity:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 9am to 5pm (rotates to 11am to 7pm every 4 weeks; 40 hours per week)

Responsibilities:

• Obtaining vital signs and documenting results
• Assisting the provider during patient visits
• Performing phlebotomy and processing specimens
• Managing electronic medical records
• Supporting quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

• Up to 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
• High School Diploma or GED
• Medical Assistant certification
• BLS and AHA Heartsaver certification
• Proficient in Phlebotomy
• Knowledge of Ambulatory Practice operations
• Computer savvy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving skills

Desired Skills:

• Experience in Primary Care settings
