Essential Job Functions
Under the medical direction of a credentialed attending anesthesiologist, the Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant provides anesthesia services before, during, and after surgical, procedural, diagnostic, or therapeutic interventions.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive preoperative assessments and developing individualized anesthesia plans of care
Coordinating with anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to ensure safe, efficient care delivery
Initiating and managing anesthetic techniques under anesthesiologist supervision
Administering anesthetic agents and adjunctive medications to maintain physiologic stability
Continuously monitoring patients intraoperatively and responding to physiological changes
Managing emergence from anesthesia and supporting patient recovery

Typically 35–45 hours per week, with some seasonal variation

Education
Required:
Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant program
Master of Science in Anesthesiology or equivalent degree
Experience
Preferred: 2–5 years of clinical experience in a high-acuity hospital, specialty hospital, or academic medical center
Certification & Licensure
Required:
Current certification or recertification as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) through NCCAA
ACLS (AHA)
PALS (AHA)
Qualifications
Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA)
Passion for patient-centered care in an outpatient setting
Reliable transportation with the ability to travel to multiple client sites (rarely more than one per day)
